On October 19, Big Fish Ministries hosted its much-anticipated 2024 Fundraiser Luau, a vibrant celebration uniting recovery advocates for a night of Hawaiian-themed activities, Polynesian music, dancing and heartfelt connections. The event was held at Alabama Gulf Coast Music Hall and attracted around 200 attendees who came dressed in colorful attire, from grass skirts to Hawaiian shirts, embodying the spirit of Aloha.

A highlight of the evening was the inspiring keynote address by Rick Hagans, founder of Harvest Evangelism. His passion for recovery ministry was evident through each word he shared. Rick spoke candidly about the impact of Big Fish Ministries on individuals seeking freedom from addiction. His message reminded those in attendance of the vital work being done and the lives being transformed through the ministry’s efforts.

The event’s success was bolstered by the generous support of local businesses and individuals. Ten table sponsors and four event sponsors stepped up to make this Luau a reality, showcasing the strong community spirit that defines Big Fish Ministries. Their contributions helped create a festive atmosphere where guests mingled and created lasting memories, all while supporting a worthwhile cause.

The Fundraiser Luau raised more than $50,000, which will support Big Fish Ministries’ residential recovery services that include faith-based counseling, case management, biblical teaching, mentorship, life-skills training, discipleship classes, job readiness training and expansion into Bay Minette, Alabama. If you weren’t able to attend this year’s Luau, there’s still time for you to give your life-transforming gift!

Thank you to everyone who attended, sponsored and supported this wonderful event. Together, we continue to cast a net of hope and healing in our community!
