Every life lost to overdose is a tragedy that affects families, friends and communities. On August 31 from 5 to 8 p.m. CST, Big Fish Ministries invites you to join us at Heritage Park in Foley for Overdose Awareness Day, an evening dedicated to remembering those we’ve lost, supporting those still struggling and raising awareness about the ongoing overdose crisis.
Why This Event Matters
According to the CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics, there were more than 80,000 drug overdose deaths in the United States in 2024. Although fatalities have decreased since 2023, the numbers still represent a staggering loss of life, and the crisis remains severe.

A Call to Action
Overdose Awareness Day is more than a memorial; it’s a call to action. It’s an opportunity to educate ourselves, support one another and advocate for policies and practices that can prevent future tragedies.
We invite you to stand with us, honor those we’ve lost and commit to making a difference in the fight against overdose. Together, we can turn grief into action and work towards a future where no more lives are lost to overdose.
